On se prépare pour la semaine d'accueil à Chypre.
Pendant 5 jours nous allons vivre une belle expérience au Latsia Lyceum. Nos partenaires sont en train de fermer le planning des activités et des excursions à faire.

Remembering Poland!

Few days ago, as I was walking around, I met the mother of one of my students who went to Poland. She approached me with a huge smile and told me: “I’ve seen the photographs! You seem to be so happy and close to one another!” As the majority of the parents she was very surprised for the success of our trip to Poland, especially due to the enthusiasm and excitement with which their children talked about their experience, and their desire to go back to Poland as soon as possible.

The students that attended the Comenius meeting in Poland have not only enjoyed the trip but they have also gained a wealth of knowledge. Firstly, they have travelled to a distant and very different country and they have been given the opportunity to experience, first hand, the real life of Polish students and their families. They met students from other European countries and shared with them interesting activities like reading French poetry, visiting a horse farm full of history, cooking together tasty Polish food, dancing Polka, singing and playing music. They also had the chance to visit relevant places related to one of the saddest episodes of contemporary world history, such as the Majdanek concentration camp nearby Lublin.

In their journey back to Spain our students spent two days in Warsaw and they were surprised to see such a big modern city in spite of its tragic history.  They also admired its rebuilt old town. The information the Polish teachers gave us about the city was very useful and our students could learn a lot about the place.

As for teachers, just the opportunity of having a glimpse into Polish school, sharing experience and knowledge with our colleagues from abroad, made the trip worthwhile. If we add to this all the wonderful moments and emotions lived together, the result is perfect.
